Spring has Sprung!

WOW! I have been loving the weather here lately in Arkansas. Especially, since it has been so pretty on the weekends.  It's about time to start doing some landscaping around the house.  I need some ideas! Im going to post some before and after pics once the front and back yard is finished (that post might take a few weeks...okay let's be honest, a month)

With this spring comes....Drum roll ba doom ba doom ba doom ba doom.....WEDDING PLANNING! It's official. Had the talk with my parents yesterday about our wedding plans.  We are shooting for a December wedding, hopefully December 8, 2012.  Chris and I are going to the chruch tomorrow that I would LOVE to get married in. I am already a member there (Christ the King Catholic Church) and Chris has visited several times but never have I been in the church with OUR wedding on my mind. There is so much to do but I am so excited to begin this experience with my mom, my MOH, and bridesmaides.  Which, by the way, they do not who they are yet.  I am have a special idea up my sleeve on how to ask each and everyone one of them.

Here is a picture of the outside of the church:

On to other things...

Thursday was my last day at my nanny job. It was definitely bitter sweet with me being exstatic to begin my career as a Curriculum Coordinator but, saddened at the thought of leaving my Linam babies.  I start my new job Monday morning! I'm not even a tad bit nervous (which is rare for me). I think that is a good sign : )

My celebratory bottle of champagne from Chris!
Cheers to a new chapter in life!

If anybody wants to see a concert where there is great vocals and harmony. Go see Zac Brown Band. Last weekend Dawn, Drew, Chris, and myself went to the concert here in Little Rock.  We went to a mexican restaurant called Juanitas to have dinner and drinks before then headed to the concert!  It was SO much fun.  Chris and I always have a good time with Dawn and Drew.

I'm Baaack!

So, here I am, over a year later, and only on my third post.  I know, I know, shame on me. However, I have been a pretty busy girl! I have so much to catch everyone up on.

First, I started this blog when I had just started living on my own.  I had just graduated college, began a new job (actually 2) and was extremely content with the way things were.  Well, If you know me, I don't like change, but I also like to mix things up in my life as much as I move around the furniture in my house. Which, by they way, is A LOT.

Here we go!

I finished taking my child development classes in December of 2011 and will have my Child Development license here in a few months.  Waiting to be observed by the state of Arkansas seems to be a longer wait than I anticipated.  For the past two years since I graduated from college and while I was working on my license,  I have been a full time nanny for Sam, Drew, and Grace Caroline.  I love these kids so much, but it was time for me to challenge myself in a career that I could stick with for years to come.

I began the dreaded job hunt about three weeks ago and last Friday I was offered a job that I just couldn't resist.  Although, I will miss my kiddies so so much I couldn't be happier with my decision to become the Curriculum Coordinator at Full Potential Child Development Center.

I have to say that this Christmas was one of the busiest, hectic, but most exciting ones in a long time.  Christmas Eve, I moved into a house! My first one! Chris' parents built a new home and gave their previous home to Chris as a graduation gift. LUCKY! Chris will not be done with school until this summer so the house is all mine until he gets done with school in Russellville. After moving my things out of my old apartment mid December, into a storage unit, and staying with Dawn and Drew for nearly two weeks I was so happy to finally have my own living space back!

Christmas Eve Dawn, Drew, my mom, dad, and myself all went to Christmas Eve mass in Little Rock.  We came home and had the traditional scrambled eggs and tamales for dinner.  This year, Chris joined us! It was so fun and special to be able to share a family tradition with him.  Christmas day was my last day as Chris' girlfriend.  He PROPOSED!! AHHHHHH! I was completely surprised!

AT THE BAKER WEDDING

BEST PIECE OF JEWELRY, EVER!
This "catch up" post has been pretty long so I will make this next part short and sweet. We have a new addition to the Glover/Ewing family. Meet Cooper! Our new beagle : ) We got him in November when he was 8 weeks old.  He is now 6 months old and loves his brother Drake more than anything!

Oh....The Holidays!

So, I know it has been a while since I last posted...I seriously have a hard time sitting down and writing down my thoughts sometimes. Funny thing is, is that I FOR SURE have the time to do this!

Let me catch you up on whats been going on the past couple of weeks!

1. My sister and brother-in-law have bought their first home! I'm so excited for them! Drew ( brother-in-law) received a job promotion and will be working in Arkadelphia, while my sister, Dawn will still be working in Little Rock, but she also will be starting a new job! They chose to live in Benton (same town as me) because it was smack dab in the middle of both of their jobs! I can't wait for them to move in! I lived in the same town as them in Conway when I was in undergraduate school. Actually we lived in walking distance from each other, so we got pretty close. I don't think of them as my sis and bro, but more like really good friends. Chris and I spend a lot of time with them, so to have them back in the same town is GREEEEAT!

2. I have decided to go back to school! I am so so so so so happy about my decision to further my education. i will be getting my M.S. in Early Childhood Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Policy and Advocacy. This is right where I need to be right now and I couldn't be happier! It will take me a little over a year to complete my degree, which works perfect because Chris will be done with his degree December 2011, and hopefully be working on a great golf course somewhere in Little Rock.

3. I'm on my third PAID vacation of the year this week! To kick it off, last Friday, Chris and I went to the Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, and Justin Moore concert here in Little Rock. It was a great show...I can see why Brad Paisley won Entertainer of the Year!

Headed to the Concert!

It was so fun!!!! And I'm so glad we sat by some good people also. It is always awful when you go to a concert and sit by annoying, drunk, people...even though I know Chris and I have been "those" people before...we try not to anymore : )

That Saturday we watched the Hogs play...WOW! What a game! I hate how Saturdays become so stressful because of College football. We watched the game with my neighbors. I love living where I live because everyone is so nice here...We are like one big community and we usually get together atleast one night of every weekend to hang out! After the game, we all loaded up in cars and headed to Denton's here in Benton! There was a band playing and the bar was open! It was fun to go out with new friends, and still run into some old friends while out!

Here we are at Dentons...Amanda (old college roommate) Sarah ( My neighbor ) and Me!

Thanksgiving is Thursday, and Me, my Mom, my Dad, Dawn, and Drew will be eating together this year! I can't wait. I love when my family is all together. It makes for a great time. Dawn and I are thinking about doing the Black Friday fiasco this year...and REALLY hope our Mom will join us!!!

Here goes nothing...

Alright, so my here I am, starting my very own blog. My sister, Dawn was pretty excited when I told her I was thinking about making one. I believe her exact words were: "It's so much better than Facebook." Ha!
So... where do I start? I guess I should say I'm a new college graduate! I graduated in May (2010) from the Unversity of Central Arkansas with a Bachelors Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I was so excited to get out in the "real world" until I realized it had bills, and bigger issues that I had ever had to worry about when I was in college. For some reason, I thought after graduation stress would go away. Stupid me. Anyway, I will say I am very proud of how independent I have become in the past five months. I have my own place, my own dog, a great job, a weekend hobby, and my very own bills! ( :-/ )

So here is my dog, Drake. Chris and I bought Drake last August. He was such a tiny little puppy when we got him and now he weighs almost 40 pounds! He is pretty  big for a beagle, but everyone says he is a very pretty beagle at that! As sad as it sounds this keeps me company. He is such a lap dog, and can be so, so sweet!!!

Next, is my job! I am a full time nanny for a family with three children. The kids parents are both physicians at Arkansas Childrens Hospital, so they're work schedules, as you can imagine, can be very crazy at times. I love being around theses kids so much! They make me laugh every single day. I feel very blessed to have a job that doesn't feel like work. Here is Drew (4) Grace Caroline (7) and Sam (2)
Now, I must go to bed!
Tell you more tomorrow!
